Once Upon a time...

Our story begins around 1930 in a small village in the municipality of San Miniato, when the Gemignani family discovered that the famous White Truffle, so coveted by traders from northern Italy, could be found in the woods of the area where they lived So they started buying the fragrant truffles from local truffle hunters in their small grocery store and reselling them to the traders who were passing through San Miniato and who already knew the precious fruits of the land.

Over the years the business has been passed down from father to son for four generations and today Filippo, with the valuable help of his family members, continues the ancient family craft with passion and dedication.

In the centre of Tuscany lies a beautiful medieval town, rich in history, art and culture, but above all it offers visitors from all over the world a magnificent landscape on the rolling hills that surround the area.

A land rich in vineyards, olive groves, but above all it offers one of its most famous gems, a fruit as precious as it is sought after: the PRECIOUS WHITE TRUFFLE.

In this area it is not uncommon to meet experienced truffle hunters with their faithful dogs who roam the woods in search of truffles in the autumn.

The truffles

Tuscany is a very important and famous region for the production of truffles: with the precious help of dogs, the most delicious species of this precious and rare mushroom are collected in the pristine forests of this splendid land:

-the valuable white truffle (Tuber Magnatum Pico), the Marzuolo or Bianchetto truffle (Tuber Borchii Vitt), the black summer truffle (Tuber Aestivum Vitt), the black Uncinato truffle (Tuber Uncinatum Ch) and the valuable black truffle (Tuber Melanosporum).
